Alexander Homestead - Beautiful Wedding at a Beautiful Venue
On Saturday August 10th, I had the distinct pleasure of being the DJ at a friend's daughter's wedding down in Charlotte, NC. Alexander Homestead is a beautiful venue and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a venue that is all of it's own.
Not only was this venue amazing, but also the guests, parents, and bride/groom. We had a blast the whole evening. I don't think people left the floor pretty much all night, unless I had to kick them off for a toast. Just take a look at all the fun that was had!

The bride and groom came into the reception area ready to party; moving into their first dances. The bride wanted to surprise her father with an extra song - so about two minutes into their first song we faded out and brought on a fun, upbeat one instead. The father was not expecting that, but rolled with it and they had a blast.
They kept it simple and didn't do the bouquet toss, garter toss, or even cake cutting. So instead, right after dinner, we did something called "table selfies." This is where the bride and groom go around to every table and take a picture or two with the guests at each table. They had 22 tables so it took a little while, but in the mean time we were there to play some music and keep the night flowing.
When they finally finished, there were so many people already up and dancing that we just kept the floor open and continued with the party.
When we booked this couple, the father of the bride made sure that we had "Brickhouse" by the Commodores on the list. He said that this song would be what got him on the floor, because he had a dance for it. So we brought that song out, and boy did he not disappoint!
All in all, it was a great night. Everyone had a great time and partied hard. At the end of the night we saw the couple off with bubbles.
